The Lambda Literary Foundation has honored the world’s oldest and most recognized LGBT book publishing house with four nominations in three categories
March 25, 2009 (NEW YORK) – Alyson Books, the world’s oldest and largest publisher of LGBT book titles, has been recognized with four nominations for the prestigious Lambda Literary Awards, the annual LGBT book honors bestowed by the Lambda Literary Foundation. The 21st annual Lambda Literary Awards gala ceremony takes place on May 28th in New York City.

A big thank you to the Lambda Literary Foundation for these honors, and we look forward to joining everyone at the ceremony in May.”
Love, West Hollywood: Reflections on Los Angeles, edited by Chris Freeman and James J. Berg, will represent Alyson Books in the Best LGBT Anthology category. In the Best Gay Novel category, The Boomerang Kid, by Jay Quinn, earned recognition. And two Alyson Books authors scored nominations in the Best Gay Mystery category: Scott Sherman for First You Fall, and Neil Plakcy for Mahu Fire.
The Lambda Literary Foundation announced a grand total of 105 nominees this year, representing 72 different publishing houses. The foundation will reveal this year’s winners on Thursday evening, May 28th, during the gala Lambda Literary Awards event in New York City.
