Alyson Books is proud to announce that Scott Sherman’s First You Fall has won the 2009 Lambda Literary Award for Best LGBT Mystery.
Sherman’s win was announced at the Lamdba Literary Foundation 21st annual Awards gala, honoring LGBT authors and titles, on May 28th in New York City.
In addition to Sherman’s award-winning novel, three other Alyson publications were also nominated for the prestigious Lambda Literary Awards. These nominations included: Love, West Hollywood: Reflections on Los Angeles, edited by Chris Freeman and James J. Berg, in the Best LGBT Anthology category; in the Best Gay Novel category, The Boomerang Kid, by Jay Quinn, and two Alyson Books authors in the Best Gay Mystery category: Neil Plakcy for Mahu Fire, and the big winner Scott Sherman for First You Fall.
First You Fall, a Kevin Connor mystery, follows Kevin Connor—a hustler by trade, sleuth by default— as he sets out to prove that a friend’s death, initially ruled a suicide, is in fact a case of murder. As the victim’s grown children, disapproving of their father’s gay lifestyle, prove more concerned with their inheritance than their father’s fate, and Kevin’s high-strung mother having moved in with him knowing nothing about his questionable career, proves as genuinely challenging as any high-strung mother having a secret kept from her, the plot thickens, the thrills tantalize, and the mystery unfolds.
Scott Sherman (pictured left, with Christopher Rice) has written for Newsweek, Genre, Instinct, and The Washington Blade. He is the host of the number-one rated The Digital Photography Show on The Podcast Network.

Hi,
I just read Don Weise's interview in the Oct. 26 Publisher's Weekly, and he mentioned zombie erotica in your catalog.
I was, however, unable to find mention of such a thing on your web site.
Is this an upcoming title, or something that has been scrapped? I, for one, am interested in exactly how that would work. If there's any information you can give me, I'd truly appreciate it.
Thanks!
