Models We Love: Julien Sabaud

Julienmiumiu_2 Out's fashion department is hard at work at New York Fashion Week -- nice work if you can get it, right? -- scoping out all the hottest emerging trends and styles for next season. (Watch our Twitter account for backstage sightings, overheard bon mots and party gossip.)

In honor of the boys strutting their stuff to present the clothes for our consideration, we asked Out staffers to each talk a little about their favorite male model of the moment.

To start with, here's the pick of our new fashion director, Grant Woolhead:

The model who I like at the moment is Julien Sabaud. I don't like him just because of his recent Miu Miu or Calvin Klein Jeans ads. I like him because he is French, which is always quite sexy to me. And also I was casting a show the other day and we could not get him because he was confirmed for Fashion Rocks. To me the biggest turn-on is wanting something you can't have.

See more of Julien's work at the Fashion Spot, and depending on how good your French is (or how much you care if you understand what he's saying), enjoy this interview from backstage last year in Milan:

Miu Miu will discontinue its men's line after it's Spring 2008 collection in order to focus on womenswear. Buy it up while you can, boys! Can you say collectors item? [WWD]

Rihanna is making the rounds among fashion mags in New York this week to promote the launch of her Umbrella line for Totes. Come on, we all saw this coming, right? Macy's will be the exclusive retailer this Spring. [WWD]

Isaac Mizrahi joins Liz Claiborne as Creative Director. Now he can hang out with Tim Gunn and spread water cooler gossip. Hopefully, he won't grab any of his coworkers breasts. [Fashionista]

Miuccia Prada has it out for men! Following the presentation of her latest collection for men (see photo), debuted in Milan on Sunday, Prada told International Herald Tribune fashion editor Suzy Menkes, that "the collection was revenge on men for the social and sartorial contortions they impose on women." I'm not sure that's the best way to sell clothes but the surreal double-collars are visible pseudo-jock straps were certainly new territory. [NY Times]
