Quickies: Project Runway Debut, FiFi Winners, Anal Jewelry, +

Will Ferrell is launching a line of...sunscreen. Goofy? Incredibly. But all the proceeds go towards a charity that gives college scholarships to cancer survivors and amputees. Says Ferrell of the launch: "I've always dreamed of owning a lotion company. And I've always hated cancer." [People Style Watch]

Despite its move to Lifetime, Project Runway, which airs in August, is largely still the same show it was on Bravo. Apparently to Heidi Klum's disapproval. Sheisse! [EW] via [The Cut

Justin Timberlake is named one of the 10 most stylish men by GQ. Yes, he looks great. But vests and skinny ties will only take you so far. [Men.style]

The contents of Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch are up for auction. What can you expect a fierce bidding war over? The fedora he wore in the Billy Jean video, a Swarovski crystal covered glove and diamond studded pants. And we wonder where all his money went. [Guardian UK

Carlos Falchi will launch a line of men's bags. After 37 years in the business, he's finally showing some Italian-leather-love to the boys. [WWD]

And the winner is: Robert Geller for the GQ Best New Menswear Designer in America. We concur. [Material Interest

Did anyone know that Stephen Cox of Duckie Brown got his start at McDonalds?! Turns out the designer worked there for four years and he tailored his uniform. [Material Interest

Robin Givhan of the Washington Post on menswear during Fashion: "Menswear designers often talk about their customers as if they are skittish wild horses, ready to bolt at the slightest hint of anything loud, aggressive or merely unexpected." [WP]

Sotheby's is holding an auction of Gianni Versace's artwork and furniture. The sale is expected to bring in nearly $3 million. [WWD]

Quickies: Whitewashed runways in Milan, Armani and D&G go head to head and more

84388110 Photo: Getty Images

> In Milan, models of color are hardly to be seen. Not a single non-white model walked the catwalk Jil Sander, Missoni, Burberry, Trussardi, Bottega Veneta, Gianfranco Ferré, Roberto Cavalli, or Prada, and only black models walked in Emoporio Armani and Versace. Some are calling it ironic given the inauguration. Editors are just saying it's due to lack of options. We're calling someone's bluff. [NYT]

> In other Milan news, Girogio Armani is accusing D&G of ripping of one of their looks. Said look is the quilted trouser seen in both shows and the well groomed Italian claws are out! [The Guardian]

> In other D&G news, Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana are working on a new concept store for D&G. It will reflect the evolution of their second brand and blue prints are being kept under wraps. The concept will be unveiled in September and the first boutiques to be renovated are the Milan, Paris, London and New York units. [WWD]

> Formula 1-ers were at Dolce & Gabbana (enough already, right?!), and Italy's soccer stars were at Versace. Inter Milan soccer stars Luis Figo, Francesco Toldo and Julio Ricardo Cruz sat front row for the show. [WWD]

> Vogue Italia editor Franca Sozzani presented her new London-based t-shirt line, Dodoski, in Milan. Inspired by Romonov Russia, we think socialite Beatrice Borromeo has the right idea: "“[The T-shirts] are perfect for stealing from your boyfriend." [WWD]

> Here come the new denim campaigns! Jonathan Rhys Meyer for Energie and Ben Taylor (son of James Taylor and Carly Simon) for Lucky Brand. Via People and WWD.

Quickies: Hedi's new spread, Kriss Van Assche's new jewelry and more

Hs_shot03_214 Hedi Slimane shot London teenagers for his new portfolio. He scoured the city to find those young lads and lassies who best represent London, finding them anywhere from coffee shops to nightclubs. [Dazed Digital]

Kriss Van Assche's is adding a necklace to his S/S 09 collections.
Called "Para Siempre" it's inspired by the "spontaneity and passion" of South America. Expect it in stores in mid-February. [IHT]

Is Robert Menichetti staging a comeback? He's had a string of headline creative director titles -- Burberry, Cerutti in 2001, his own collection a year later, Celine in 2004 -- and he maybe poised to head Italian apparel brand Cruciani. [WWD]

Quickies: Valentino skips the runway, Britney Spears on Project Runway? and more

Following Marni's footsteps, Valentino will forgo a Milan runway show this season.
And the black cloud continues to descend upon Fashion Week. [WWD]

Rumor alert: Britney Spears (pictured) to appear on Project Runway? Heidi Klum was at B. Spears' 27th birthday, and speculation says Klum was talking shop. Please make it work! [MSNBC]

Now you can suck in your spare tire with LumberWear, basically a girdle for men. They're being marketed for men with back pain, but they are sooo obviously for those gays out there who have always wanted to try on their girl friend's Spanx. [The Cut]

We'd never expect such behavior from a gay, but dermatologists warn against washing your body with shampoo. Being that shampoos are designed for oily hair, they strips your body of essential skin oils. Pass this info along to your straight brother. [Dermatology Blog]

Quickies: Tom Ford casts his movie, Marc Jacobs shows off and more

81677696 Photo: Getty Images

Tom Ford has has cast his upcoming directorial debut, A Single Man.
On the playbill will be Colin Firth, playing a gay professor who's boyfriend, Matthew Goode, dies in car crash but appears in flash back, and Julianne Moore steps in as Firth's friend. Sounds tragic, but at least everyone will be pretty to look at. [Popnography]

Marc Jacobs is shirtless -- again.
The designer lent his bod to photographer Terry Richardson, who collaborated with tattoo artist Scott Campbell (Jacob's personal inker) to do a series of portraits of inker's often high-profile clients. [SuperTouch]

Barack Obama finally upgraded his denim.
Spotted on a recent bike trip in a pair of jeans our mom would wear, he's now sporting a more relaxed dark wash denim. Good move  -- best not to get too comfortable before election night. [NYDN]

Elton John only eats on Versace crockery.
He claims the later designer's spirit lives in them. Right -- we're oh so sure the eidolon of one of the greatest designers in fashion history is going to set up shop in a cereal bowl.   [NYP]

Quickies: John Varvatos, Chace Crawford, Diesel, Project Runway

82706396 Photo: Getty Images

John Varvatos says he's considering moving his show to Milan.
"New York Fashion Week is not in step, time-wise, with men’s markets at all," he said. [The Cut]

Is Chace Crawford next in line to become the new face of Versace?
We're hearing word that he could be poised to steal the next ad campaign from the flowing-haired Patrick Dempsey. [Perez Hilton]

The Diesel store on Carnaby street in London's Soho district has been wrapped with padding, PVC and shiny black material.  And why? To give it a particularly S&M look to promote their Dark Desires line. Matt Wingfield, the artist who conceptualized the display, said, “We are trying to push the idea of display and how a brand can seek attention." You don't say. [Creative Review]

Project Runway is not only moving to Lifetime next season, but also to Los Angeles, where Heidi Klum promises a lot of upgrades. Among said improvements? Kick-ass sewing machines, which means no more gratuitous fights between designers about so-and-so screwing up the crappy Parson's equipment the last time they used it.  I mean, it's Lifetime, so they've gotta take it down a notch with all the drama. Harper's Bazaar makes fashion wishes come true in a special game of celebrity dress-up

Karl
Photo: Getty Images

You've probably already seen the photos of Tyra Banks dressed as Michelle Obama and campaigning for even more attention than she already has (and probably deserves) in September's Harper's Bazaar. But if you haven't had time to properly pour through the issue, you might not know that the first lady of reality fashion television isn't the only one who got to play dress-up.

Bazaar asked several other style mavens to pick the celebrity they'd most like to be for the day and then made all their secret couture wishes come true. Michael Kors became James Stewart as L.B. Jeffries in Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window. Giorgio Armani chose Fred Astaire. And Karl Lagerfeld suited up in Phat Farm jeans to play rapper Lil' Wayne. "Believe it or not, I love rap," Lagerfeld told Bazaar.

Other designers involved in the shoot include Donna Karan, Donatella Versace, Alessandra Facchinetti, Alber Elbaz, Rodarte's Laura and Kate Mulleavy and Roberto Cavalli. TrendHunter.com is hosting the images specifically mentioned above, but for the full story you'll have to shell out a few bucks for the September issue of Harper's Bazaar or steal the copy from your hairstylist's waiting room.

Vivienne Westwood Paunches Up The Runway; Smell This: Zirh Ikon; Donatella Versace's Muse: Barrack Obama; Naomi Does Menswear; Rag & Bone Gets Control; The Lates Trends from Milan

81662700 Photo: Getty Images

We love Milan fashion week for the onslaught of gorgeous male models who strut the runway in amazing clothes (and sometimes barely any clothes at all), but Vivienne Westwood turned the stereotypical male model on its head when she sent a balding, middle-aged, beefy, daddy stomping down the catwalk (see photo).  Seriously, I think this guy is my plumber.  [The Cut]

Men's grooming brand Zirh is looking to go from cult classic to household name with the launch of their first fragrance, Ikon.  With a name like that, someone sure has high hopes for themselves. [WWD]

U.S. politics continue their sweep of the world as Donatella Versace dedicates her Spring 09' men's line to Barrack Obama, saying her collection is for "a relaxed man who doesn't need to flex muscles to show he has power." But Miss Versace sure has to flex her marginal world knowledge to show she's not a complete moron. [The Canadian Press]

Naomi Campbell, fresh off her trial for that little incident at Heathrow, walked in Dolce & Gabbana's sleepwear inspired men's Spring 09' runway show.  Nice to see the boys at D&G making an appeal to the transgendered/sexual community. [British Vogue]

Rag & Bone have teased a holiday collection to debut in October that is inspired by the Ian Curtis biopic, Control.  Soon thereafter, they've promised a Manhattan retail location to display looks that delve deeper into the late-seventies and early-eighties U.K. music scene. "Mods, punks, rude boys, suedeheads—they all took their looks very seriously," says codesigner Marcus Wainwright.  And we will also be taking their looks very seriously. [Material Interest]

The most, er, notable? trends for Spring 09 from Milan?  Pajamas and, yes, cinched waists.  Androgyny continues. [Fashionista (2)]

The Met Costume Institute Benefit; ELLE Out, Marie Claire In? Songstress Agyness Deyn; Donatella Denies H&M; SJP talks Sex

As reported yesterday, The Metropolitan Museum was prepping for the onslaught of glitterati that would descend upon the Costume Institute Gala for the opening of the exhibition "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy." It was A-list all the way.  We found our invitation buried under some magazines on the coffee table, but all the gay drama on Gossip Girl was way better. [WWD]

Though guaranteed to remain Project Runway's sponsor through season five (which premieres this summer), is ELLE in danger of being dethroned by Marie Claire in season six?  After all, Nina Garcia was spotted leaving the Hearts building—which owns MC—last week.[The Cut]

We were all admittedly nervous when we heard Agnyess Deyn was set to make her debut in the music industry with a collaboration with hipster New York band Five O'Clock Horses.  Well, their first single is out...and it's not that bad! [Perez Hilton]

After rolling out diffusion lines from Madonna, Stella McCartney and Roberto Cavalli, Donatella Versace told a crowd at The New York Times'  TimesTalk that Versace will not collaborate with H&M for their own lower-priced line.  Then she started talking about wearing leather, taking drugs and being lonely, and everyone got slightly uncomfortable. [The Cut]

Sarah Jessica Parker also gave her own, thankfully less awkward interview at the TimesTalk last Friday where she dished on, what else, the Sex and the City movie.  Our appetites (and maybe our pants) are wet. [Fashionista] -- SETH PLATTNER
